I bought this on new years eve and played it on steam for hours. As soon as I stopped I thought "I bet they have a mobile version and it is probably just as good because of the play style ect." I looked, and they did. I bought it and then immediately played it on my phone for a few more hours. Over the last few years I have accumulated (and never used) google points in the play store. The mobile app is $10 and this was the first time I was compelled to use them for anything and I had a little over enough. I have NEVER spent 10 dollars on an app. I have only bought a handful of apps, or even spent money on any app, maybe 3% of the time since smart phones were invented. My Steam account has recorded 30.6 hours of playtime. My phone has 35.23 hours. It has been about 10 days since purchase and during the last 10 days I have played Balatro nearly 3 of them. About 2 days and 18 hours. I happened to randomly come across this site "Quests" and immediately saw Balatro was mentioned. This post, which I only really briefly looked at because I wanted to see if there was some cool screen shots or stuff I had not unlocked, compelled me to look at this and contemplate how this is a problem for me. I cannot continue to play this game in the way that I have and fulfill all my daily obligations. I wish I was joking but I'm not. This game has really filled my free time in ways few things ever have. You would happily think that I am some kid with free time but I am not. I am a married, father of 4, in my forties, with a full time job, and studying for school. So hopefully this is a warning, but mostly a gut check for myself. On another, serious note, the person I reccomend who plays this or dear reader if you have someone who enjoys slot machines too much / someone addicted to gambling. This is a safer thing to play than slot machines and I honestly believe for many people it could work as a stand in. Like when they use a weaker opiod to ween someone off heroin. This could be the methadone for gambling addiction. I really want to write something clever here like "10 of 10 , would do it all again!" but really I have played this way to much and I need to slow it down. So if after all this it still sounds fun then you should (not) try it out.
Off to the appstore…. 👋🏼
Update: Obsessed with this game
I have downloaded it as well… will report back!

Quest complete! You should probably uninstall the game now.
Good luck with your studies. Balatro will be waiting : )
